As we reflect on the crucifixion of Jesus today,
we are brought back to a moment that settled more than we often realise.

At the cross, there was an exchange.

Not only of sin for forgiveness,
but of position.

Where there should have been separation,
there is now acceptance.
Where there should have been striving,
there is now rest.

The cross did not leave your worth open to interpretation.
It established it. Not through your effort,
but through Christ.

Which means approval is no longer something you move towards.
It is something that has already been given.

A position you live from.

And yet, it is still possible to live as though that exchange has not taken place.

To continue building, deciding, and leading
from a place that still feels like it needs to be earned.

This is where Beyond Approval begins.

This book confronts the instinct to live for validation
and calls you back to the truth that your identity is already secure in God.

Through the lives of Saul, Mephibosheth, David, and Joseph,
it draws a clear distinction between striving for acceptance
and living from it.

Clarity. Conviction.
And a deeper understanding of who you are—
without performance.

Today in the UK we celebrate Mother’s Day, and I want to take a moment to honour a particular group of women. The women who are building businesses, stewarding callings, and raising children at the same time.

Christian women who carry both vision and responsibility.

Motherhood and ambition are often framed as opposites, but many of us know the truth is more complex than that.

We are nurturing lives while also nurturing ideas.
We are forming families while also building things that will serve others.
We are learning to steward time, faith, leadership, and purpose — often all in the same day.

Scripture reminds us that wisdom, strength, and grace are not things we manufacture ourselves. They are gifts God provides as we walk faithfully in the roles He has entrusted to us.

So today I simply want to acknowledge the mothers who are showing up in both spaces — home and work — with courage, faith, and perseverance.

Your work matters.
Your children matter.
And the example you are setting matters more than you may realise.

Happy Mother’s Day to the women raising families while faithfully pursuing the work placed on their hearts.

In the Bible, “Milk & Honey” was the phrase God used for the Promised Land (Exodus 3:8). It symbolised expansion. Provision. New territory.

The dream.

But the land was promised before the people had the maturity to steward it well.

And sometimes in business, we blame spiritual warfare for what is actually internal instability.

We pray for growth.
We ask God to enlarge our territory.
We step into bigger rooms.

Then we feel overwhelmed.
Reactive.
Overextended.
Anxious.

Maybe it’s not attack.

Maybe it’s exposure.

Exposure of what we’re rooted in.

Performance.
Control.
Proving.
Fear.

Because when territory expands, your root system gets tested.

It was something they had to carry well.
